Hydrogen |
Hydrogen is a key feedstock in several petrochemical processes. Hydrogen is supplied from a dedicated plant located at or near a customer’s facility or via a pipeline network if one exists in the vicinity. Hydrogen plants are owned, operated and managed by Air Products and can be custom designed for customers requirements, which can include steam, cogenerated power, feedstock flexibility, utility synergies, and additional hydrogen needs. Relatively smaller requirements of hydrogen can be supplied via on-road liquid hydrogen trailers or compressed gas tube trailers from Air Products extensive manufacturing and distribution network.

Hydrogen Production/Cogeneration |
Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide or Syngas (HyCO) production using steam reforming is highly endothermic, requiring a catalytic process reaction at high temperatures and significant steam input. The overall efficiency of the process can be improved through the integration of power generation using gas and steam turbine technology. Power may be generated from this process on an incremental basis at a heat-rate of less than 5500 Btu/kWh. Frequently, the need for additional power goes hand in hand with the need for more steam and HyCO products at a chemical plant or refinery. Air Products has developed and installed multiple such integrated facilities, which it owns and operates.
